    In this guided workshop, participants will be introduced to colour mixing and mixed media techniques while creating a landscape-inspired painting. Beginning with loose drawing and broad areas of colour, we will gradually build layers through guided step-by-step processes.     Explore textiles through text, stitch, and personal expression.

    In this guided workshop, participants will be introduced to a range of hand-stitching techniques for incorporating text into fabric, including appliqué, iron-on fusible bondaweb, satin stitch, and couching. We will explore different ways of working with words, letterforms, and mark-making through thread, using a variety of materials and approaches.

    The session also considers how text can function within textiles as a way of holding meaning, memory, or personal language, while remaining open and experimental. Participants will be encouraged to work with their own chosen words, phrases, or ideas, allowing the piece to develop through a process-led approach.

    Using scrap and reclaimed materials, the workshop will focus on building texture, composition, and rhythm through stitching. You will be supported through demonstrations and guided experimentation, with space to work at your own pace.
